4 ISCLS members attended the now annual Contact Lens Industry Contact Lens Stalwarts’ dinner at the historic Army and Navy Club in Pall Mall London on 14th November. 20 well-known names met to discuss old and exciting times. Organised by Ian Mc Dermott of previous Aspect Contact Lens fame the meeting celebrated the life of Tim Bowden.
Nigel Burnett Hodd lamented the fact that the ISCLS had lost 4 brilliant British Contact Lens Opticians in recent years being Ron Loveridge, Alan Simons, Mike Jaggs, and now Tim Bowden. Waving a copy of Tim’s book ‘Contact Lenses –The Story’ Nigel said that John de Carle had 36 references in the text showing the great contribution he and other ISCLS members had made to Contact Lenses over the years.
Our picture shows ISCLS members John de Carle, Ivan Wainer, Andrew Gasson and Nigel Burnett Hodd in the old library.
